November 10, 2019, Semarang – After painting five homes for the disabled in five different cities across Indonesia, PT Mowilex Indonesia continues their Corporate Social Responsibility Program  at Kampung Pelangi, Semarang. This isn’t the first time that Mowilex has shown support for Kampung Pelangi, the company has also helped out the village in 2017 when the Semarang Municipal Government wanted to create the village which is situated on Jl. Dr. Sutomo IV, no. 89, Randusari, Semarang Selatan in Central Java to become a tourist destination in order to boost the local economy.

Since two years ago, PT Mowilex’s responsibility has never faded to help maintain Kampung Pelangi as popular tourist destination. This November, PT Mowilex have undertaking a repainting project of Kampung Pelangi in cooperation with the Semarang Municipal Government as well as, of course, the residents of Kampung Pelangi. As many as 2,500 liters of Mowilex paints have been handed over directly to the Kampung Pelangi Painting Committee.

Handojo Budijono, PT Mowilex Indonesia’s Regional Manager at the Semarang Branch says “Our support for Kampung Pelangi this time is greater compared to two years ago, this is proof of our commitment to continue to support the government in developing the region’s potential as well as the local economy. We’ve donated 2,500 liters of paint directly to the Kampung Pelangi Painting Committee as part of our continuing support for Kampung Pelangi.”

At the same occasion, Suratman, Head of CSR at PT Mowilex added, “In the future, we’ll try to give skills training to the local community so they can be economically self-sufficient and become creative citizens which will of course add more value to Kampung Pelangi.”

The company hopes that what they’ve done at Kampung Pelangi, Semarang can be an inspiration to other villages as well as to be an example so that they can also protect their environment and become productive villages.
