Jakarta, 20 February 2020 – In commemoration of the Waste Care Day which falls on 21 February 2020, PT. Mowilex Indonesia supports Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center and McD Indonesia together with approximately 100 students from SDN Kebagusan 01 in South Jakarta in their craft making activities by recycling used plastic buckets or gallons into reusable items such as trash cans which can be used in the school area.

Waste’s presence Indonesia has now increased to reach 67 million tons of garbage during 2019, of which 15% is dominated by plastic waste which requires a very long time to be decomposed. Having the same passion in reducing the consumption of plastic waste, PT. Mowilex Indonesia has eliminated the consumption of disposable plastic bottled water and water gallon in the head office environment and is able to eliminate the use of 12,000 disposable plastics in one year.

“Our company has become the first manufacturing company in Indonesia to obtain a Carbon Neutral certification, so we always support parties who share the goal of reducing emissions,

including through creative education activity such as that which is now initiated by Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center.” said Olly Prabianto Baidhowi, a representative from the Corporate Social Responsibility section in PT. Mowilex Indonesia.

This social activity which is supported by Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center and McD Indonesia aims to increase children’s creativity in expressing their imagination by giving a touch of bright colors. In addition, this activity teaches children to care about the environment and reduce plastic waste by recycling through creative ways. Not only that, children will also be taught about the process of making compost from recycling dry leaves.

“In addition to commemorating Waste Care Day, through this activity, we invite children to learn to recycle plastic waste in a fun way, one of them is by painting paint baskets.” Said S. Aulia Masjhoerdin, General Manager of Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center. “Surely this recycled paint can be used as a useful item such as trash can, storage, and other uses,” he added.
