Project Estimator

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to calculate the exact amount of product needed for each project.
  • Apply knowledge of product dimensions, application methods, and industry standards to accurately estimate material volumes.
  • Proficiently create and interpret project drawings, ensuring they accurately reflect project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BQs), detailing all materials, labor, and equipment costs associated with the project.
  • Utilize estimation software and costing models to generate detailed and accurate material quantity reports.
  • Identify and communicate potential material variances and propose alternative solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales representatives, and engineers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, product pricing, and application methods to maintain accurate cost calculations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate costing records and documentation.
  • May participate in site visits to gather additional project information.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as an Estimator or a related field.
  • Proven ability to accurately estimate material quantities based on project specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, application methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software, costing models, and project drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Experience in creating and interpreting Bills of Quantities (BQs).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
