Responsibilities:
- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to calculate the exact amount of product needed for each project.
- Apply knowledge of product dimensions, application methods, and industry standards to accurately estimate material volumes.
- Proficiently create and interpret project drawings, ensuring they accurately reflect project requirements and specifications.
- Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BQs), detailing all materials, labor, and equipment costs associated with the project.
- Utilize estimation software and costing models to generate detailed and accurate material quantity reports.
- Identify and communicate potential material variances and propose alternative solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales representatives, and engineers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, product pricing, and application methods to maintain accurate cost calculations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate costing records and documentation.
- May participate in site visits to gather additional project information.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as an Estimator or a related field.
- Proven ability to accurately estimate material quantities based on project specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, application methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software, costing models, and project drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Experience in creating and interpreting Bills of Quantities (BQs).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
